At Vive, we strive to be forward thinking in our approach to treatment. For this reason we make sure to stay on top of new or innovative therapies that are gaining traction in the therapeutic and medical communities.
Vive Adolescent Care now offers Ketamine infusions and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as an adjunctive treatment option, with more innovative and alternative treatment modalities in development.
Ketamine Infusions
Ketamine is a medication that is commonly used in anesthesia and has been around for nearly 60 years. Recently, ketamine has shown to be a promising treatment for clients with depression, anxiety, suicidality, PTSD, intrusive/obsessive thoughts, self harm, addiction, chronic pain, and more.
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic. This allows clients to dissociate from limiting beliefs, thoughts, emotions, feelings, trauma, etc.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
HBOT has been utilized for over 40 years. Recently, there has been significant research regarding the effects for mental health. HBOT is used in mental health similarly to its use for physical healing. With mental illness and stress, the healing process is not functioning adequately and commonly cause for an inflammation response.
There is a body of research suggesting an immune response in correlation with brain health via several mechanisms such as enzymes, biochemical pathways, amino acids and other precursors to neurotransmitters such as serotonin. Neurotransmitters have been a key component of research for treating depression, anxiety, suicidality, OCD, and even some PTSD symptoms; along with physical benefits such as wound healing and inflammation.
*To see if Ketamine or Oxygen Therapy may be a fit for your child ask your psychiatric provider. Optional therapies are not covered by insurance and will be billed as self-pay.

About Vive Adolescent Care
Vive Adolescent Care is a specialized adolescent mental health treatment center providing short-term inpatient psychiatric care for teens experiencing an acute mental health crisis. Vive serves adolescents ages 12 to 17 with a comprehensive, medically supervised program designed to stabilize emotional and behavioral crises while helping families prepare for successful long-term recovery. The program is insurance-based and typically provides 14 to 30 days of intensive inpatient treatment focused on safety, assessment, stabilization, and individualized care planning.
